Owl, Moon and Mountain

It is night

Moon is full

Owl flies under

Wings in silent voice

Black Mountain, red-rimmed

And moon capped

Shadow and rock-fire

Deepens the valley

Red-eye Raven

Escaped Owl’s talon

Looked through my eyes

Came to steal

            y

Moon’s milk

            Too Bright

            Too Hot

Alpha & Omega

Owl

Feathers in my hands

Totem

Between

Red-waters

Let the Corn weep passion

            to the Moons

            to the Nights

In Red River

Moon’s milk flowed

Only in passing

Slipped my fingers

Bathed dark mound

Venus of red eyes

in black birds, of

Full moons speared

Shadows

Milk nights

Flame

of a short-wicked candle

Thin smoke

Trying to paste

Itself

On the Night’s

Indigo.
