Magic

with a nod to Bill Bryson

Sometimes we get

caught up in the

little worlds we create,

grow blind to what

is wonderful around us,

our remarkable place.

I always try to stay lost

in awe and humility.

It comes easy when I

think of things like water.

This planet is a closed system,

our water has been cycled

through oceans and rivers and

storms and plants and creatures

for as long as this Earth has been blue.

The same molecules.

So pour yourself a glass.

Let your mind open up to

35 million centuries of being.

You will need sit with it,

stretch your imagination,

use every drop of sentient

you are to touch that knowledge.

And anytime you

are scared and feel the

weight of your mortality,

drink yourself a glass

of forever and know

you are the same.
