Me.

Well, all right: us.

But that’s it, because

If you count in the dogs

Or invite the family of silent beings,

Trees for instance or the ghosts of the Burgess Shale,

Well then, it all goes out the window.

Then it’s all just “here,”

Implacably so;

And unconscious, and

Not a table prepared

For us, for

Me.
