Fate is a Pear Fate
is a pear a
ship of citron and chartreuse sailing
across a sea of white cloth casting
a blue shadow. A
man is fated to sketch the pear. Like
all fates, this one has come from
what he has chosen and what a
thousand histories have thrust on him. Because
Adam was driven from the Garden, the
man reaches for the brush. Because
he has free will, he
dips it in vermillion. Nils
